About Immigration, the Bible says….

that as Christians we are called 2 b compassionate and merciful toward immigrants. The US though, needs a merciful and compassionate immigration policy. That, though, is not the question! The question is what does the Bible say about it and what is r role as followers of Christ?

Immigration is a means to a hope. It is that hope which motivates people 2 leave their present situation and they may find themselves in – whatever they may b(Exodus 23:9- “U shall not oppress a sojourner 4 U were once sojourners. U know the heart of a sojourner 4 U were once sojourners in the land of Egypt”.)

The immigrant is on a journey looking 4 ways 2 make a living by seeking opportunity – the opportunity 2 have a life that allows them to provide 4 others and contribute 2 a higher cause, say the economic development(Leviticus 19:33-34 “When a stranger sojourns with U in your land, U shall not do him wrong, U shall treat the stranger who sojourns with U as the native among U and U shall love him as yourself, 4 U were strangers once in the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God”.)of the land in which they live and have established their roots and made their abode.

We as Christians R sojourners taking that journey and living in a world that is temporary. We R just traveling through and will B here only 4 a short time. That is one reason that we do not conform 2 the ways of this world. We know what R hope is, rather, who R hope is. So we know where R eternal destiny is! It is the Garden of Paradise, R eternal home! No more sojourning. This then is R hope – 2 spend eternity with God(Phillipians 3:20 “But R citizenship is in heaven, and we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ”).
